My name is Mohammed Al-Malek, I am a writer/filmmaker/photographer, but first and foremost an IB student in Qatar Academy. I am also the Student Head for THIMUN Qatar’s Film Festival for the year 2014. My passion for cinema expanded my knowledge and introduced me to the world of filmmaking. Since 2009, I’ve been getting involved in different productions and working on several local film sets. Here is some information I want to share with you regarding the upcoming Film Festival.
THIMUN Qatar Film Festival aims to provide venues and distribution support for high school students to showcase their work to a wider audience. It also strives to provide support to students by featuring workshops with industry professionals offering educational opportunities for both filmmakers and film enthusiasts to encourage the art and appreciation of film.
Films can either be submitted through our online system or instead mail the film files to the following address in a Thumb-drive or a DVD.
