My mind-set about history turned around, and I discovered things that I would’ve never gotten to research about if it weren’t for this day

A harmless conversation between three keen activists blossomed into realization of what had been fizzing for almost three years but hadn’t quite taken off the ground. When words became a reality momentum gathered with registration snowballing beyond expectations.

Pressure escalated as designing, changing, printing followed by the incessant buzzing of mobiles with 80+ messages.

Finally, the day dawned! We were lucky to have Mr Neeshad Shafi, Executive Director of the Arab Youth Climate Movement Qatar (AYCM QA) as our Chief Guest and MUN Ambassador as the Guest of Honour. Mr. Shafi is an advocate for social change addressed the gathering of 70 delegates and a team of 20 Admin on the dire need for environmental conservation.

The conference then took off as the delegates were eager to start lobbying their clauses, after a quick round of introductions. Interestingly the entire committee of DISEC and HRC solely consisted of first time participants who made extraordinary progress as a maiden attempt.

Suddenly… there was a call for arbitration from the Crisis Committee as tension escalated with heated arguments and the Ambassador of Japan being kidnapped! It was indeed interesting to listen to the debates of the War Cabinet trying to come to a consensus as the Crisis Analysts were in a quandary.

Wars were waged and won. Laughter and screams rang high. Everyone was tired to the max; but it was nothing less than an amazing day. The effort was all worth it in the end – new connections, new ideas, and a new family blossomed. “My mind-set about history turned around, and I discovered things that I would’ve never gotten to research about if it weren’t for this day”, was what our dear delegate from the Crisis committee mentioned.

We had achieved our purpose of furthering the archive of knowledge of the delegates. The first step we took has not only given the courage to step forward but also proven our capacities and capabilities to soar.
