With plant-based diets surging in popularity over the past few years, the evolution of veganism has rapidly increased, and has also been the rise of 2020. This plant-based food diet tends to be a growing trend among young people and youths. Veganism was first initiated in the 1944s, but it got neglected over the decades, that it almost got forgotten among individuals, up until the 21st century. Starting from the year 2010, the world saw a significant rise in the vegan diet, and ever since then, it became the most-in dietary trend. The word veganism is derived from the lifestyle that excludes all animal products and attempts to limit the exploitation of animals as much as possible. This style of living promotes the development and use of animal-free alternatives for the benefit of animals, humans and the environment. As previously mentioned, people have many beliefs towards this diet and the decision is made for a variety of reasons.Firstly, comes the environment. Vegans choose to avoid animal products because of the environmental impact of animal agriculture, as these products generally require more resources, increasing the emissions of the greenhouse gases. Secondly, is health. People may divert to veganism for its potential health effects, as it has been stated that plant-based diets reduce your risk of heart disease, diabetes and cancer. Likewise, it reduces the risk of Alzheimer’s disease and along with the increase of antibody production in white blood cells. Lastly, comes ethics. As many vegans strongly believe that all creatures have the right to live and have freedom. Therefore, they are opposed to the fact of consuming an animal’s flesh or drinking its milk. They’re also opposed to the psychological and physical stress that animals may endure as a result of certain practices. How to become a vegan you may ask? It’s simple. As you shall start it off by taking it slow; always keep the goal in mind and slowly start swapping Non-vegan items to vegan alternatives. Do it right; make sure you don’t miss out on any essential nutrients. Being a vegan doesn’t mean cutting out protein, calcium or Omega-3s, but means getting these nutrients in a wide variety of tasty plant foods. Keep learning; living as a vegan takes both courage and curiosity and with these you shall pace your lifestyle of veganism, as this is an unending journey for you and the world.Ultimately, choosing this route of lifestyle is a freedom of choice. People may have different  opinions than others, but differences are what make us united. Veganism is a long path with different experiences, and the more is yet to come.
