QLC Incubator Sessions: Paving our Roads to Success

Have you ever had a creative idea pop into your head in the middle of the night – an idea that could have the potential to blow minds? Well, a majority of us have. The real problem is when we don’t know how to give a base to these ideas, and how to further develop them. We know what we want to do, but we think that we don’t have the courage, confidence, or the knowledge to be able to implement it successfully.

The incubator session with the THIMUN Qatar PGA team on the last day of Qatar Leadership Conference proved to be an excellent source of information and knowledge for those who signed up for it. With a well-experienced PGA team, the advice provided was simply amazing. Each of the attendees were given an equal amount of time so that they could explain their ideas to the team, receive qualitative advice and review on it, and then expand upon their ideas based on the advice they received.

Of course, these projects were being prepared for the actual Global Act with Impact Award (GAIA) in the THIMUN conference 2021. The team helped the presenters’ creative, innovative and productive ideas develop on them so that they could aim to not just introduce the project to the community, but win hearts. The ideas centered around the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), as per the theme of GAIA. For example, one visionary idea was to organize a Model United Nations conference based entirely upon SDG 14, Life Below Water. Impressive, isn’t it? There’s more! Another idea was to use food boxes and drives in Srilanka to end hunger in the country, as well as improve food and security – all of this covering the second SDG, Zero Hunger. This was highly applauded by the team, too!

Through these incubator sessions, those with brilliant minds were able to finally use their skills and ideas, and put them to good use. The team provided the attendees with a direction: the road that, at first, seemed to have no light and too many obstacles was now clear and bright, all thanks to the PGA team! So, if you have an idea that you can’t formulate at the moment, don’t lose hope. The Global Act with Impact Award awaits your project’s presentation in THIMUN 2021, it’s never too late to start working for what you want. Even if you don’t have that clear and brightened road yet, GAIA experience could serve as your mentor!
